Production main components Hanhikivi-1 begins

Japan Steel Works has started forging of the generator rotor for the Hanhikivi-1 nuclear power plant project in northern Finland, owner Fennovoima said in a statement today.

According to the statement, forging will take approximately nine months, after which the rotor will be transported to a GE Steam Power factory in France’s Belfort to be machined.
