UK begins cross-border consultations on Sizewell C EPR project

The UK government has begun cross-border environmental impact consultations under the United Nations Espoo and Aarhus conventions on the proposed development of the two-unit Sizewell C nuclear station project on the east coast of England.

The UK government’s Planning Inspectorate said it has carried out a screening assessment of possible significant effects on the environment in neighboring countries and concluded the proposed new-build project is not likely to have significant effects in any other states outside of the UK.
