DOE announces $65 M in funding nuclear energy research

The US Department of Energy has announced more than $65m in nuclear energy research funding for 93 advanced nuclear technology projects in 28 states.

The awards fall under a number of DOE’s programmes designed to advance the development of next generation nuclear technology. They include support for university-led nuclear energy research and development projects, national laboratory projects and three integrated research projects which address well-defined but highly complex technical issues impacting key mission objectives.
